This workshop is for anyone who has ever considered intergrading yoga into their lives and not yet been able to walk themselves through the door of a yoga class or for students, for whatever reason, still feel unsure in their practice. Through this 6-week series you will learn more than just asanas (poses). It has become a passion of mine to teach people all aspects of the practice of yoga. I have been teaching for 6 years and the past 2 years I have become somewhat overwhelmed with the amount of injuries occurring within a yoga practice. Yoga is meant to restore and heal, not create more harm. Through learning beneficial breathing techniques, basic knowledge of how the body moves and works and proper alignment, you will leave this series confident to walk into any yoga class and knowing how to listen to your own body have a successful yoga practice.
Breath work, gentle stretching and meditation
Learn all poses, 7 total, within what is called Sun Salutation A (Sun A). All poses given with options and modifications as you learn to listen to your own body.
Adding on to week 2, learning 2 more poses that create Sun Salutation B
Putting Sun A and B together, adding a couple of common poses you may encounter in a class.
Discussion of emotional connection with your practice. Q&A

Putting it all together! A 1-hour flow ending with a guided meditation.
