Pro Cowboy Country Artist Association’s Inaugural Awards Show to Air on RFD-TV’s The Cowboy Channel
The first annual Pro Cowboy Country Artist Association Awards Show, set for Oct. 14, 2017, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, will be recorded live-to-tape and will air on RFD-TV’s The Cowboy Channel. The event, which kicks off at 7:30 p.m. CST, will be held in the Fort Smith Convention Center.
“People are begging for memorable, meaningful songs that speak to the heart, performed by artists who have lived life to the fullest—and who aren’t afraid to tell about it. That’s exactly what this awards show brings to the audience in Fort Smith and to RFD-TV’s television audience,” declares Royal Wade Kimes, founder of the Pro Cowboy Country Artist Association.

Kimes, a national recording artists known as “The Gentleman Outlaw,” has recorded fourteen albums, received numerous awards as an artist and has written songs for Garth Brooks, Diamond Rio, Gene Watson and others. He was voted Best Living Western Solo Musician in 2010 by True West magazine and was nominated by the Academy of Western Artists in 2014 in the Most Outstanding Male Western Artist category.

“RFD-TV’s The Cowboy Channel is absolutely the perfect match for the first-ever Pro Cowboy Country Artist Association Awards Show,” proclaims Kimes, “because “cowboy” says it all. The show will be an unforgettable night showcasing the music and the performers that form the fabric of the cowboy mystique.”
Awards will be presented for Entertainer of the Year, Group of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, 2017 Legend of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Western Swing Album of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Yodeler of the Year, DJ of the Year and Novelist of the Year.
Kimes adds, “When the U.S. from coast to coast seems awash in contemporary country music, Cowboy Country music proudly taps into the real people and the real songs that celebrate America and American values.”
Cowboy Country is not anything new. Country music started out Cowboy Country with the likes of Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Marty Robbins, Tex Ritter and others. Rogers recorded the forever-famous “Don’t Fence Me In,” while Robbins had a No. 1 smash with “El Paso” and Tex Ritter’s “Do Not Forsake Me, Oh, My Darlin’” was the theme song for the movie High Noon and was awarded the 1952 Academy Award for Best Original Song.
Kimes explains that just like RFD-TV is the perfect television network to air the Pro Cowboy Country Artist Association Awards Show, Henry Repeating Arms is the “perfect fit” as the show’s sponsor.
